Transform Waste into Value with Onsite Water Reuse
Water and sewer costs show no sign of declining. The water crisis has financially impacted properties everywhere. With surging populations, aging infrastructure, and worsening scarcity, the problem won’t go away without the right solution.
VVater’s Onsite Reuse solution transforms your property’s waste into a new value stream. With our onsite reuse systems, you can recapture and recycle wastewater. The repurposed water can be used for onsite applications like commode flushing, laundry appliances, cooling towers, irrigation, and much more.
Think about how much you spend on water. VVater’s sophisticated reuse solution empowers you to cut that number in half.
Greywater vs. Blackwater
VVater Onsite Reuse can be engineered to reclaim greywater, blackwater, brine water, and more. The fundamental treatment technology remains much the same for any water source. Both greywater and blackwater recycling contribute to sustainable water practices and environmental protection. Several critical factors can influence the decision-making process when selecting the most suitable water reuse system for your project.
Factors to consider when choosing between onsite greywater or blackwater reuse systems for your project:

What is Onsite Water Reuse?
Onsite water reuse systems capture, treat, and repurpose a building’s wastewater locally rather than routing it to a centralized municipal system for processing. Wastewater—whether referred to as greywater or blackwater, depending on its origin—consists of the water that exits through drains when we use faucets, flush toilets, or launder clothes.
Additionally, rainwater or stormwater can also be collected and treated for reuse in these systems. The gathered wastewater is retained onsite and then undergoes a treatment process to eliminate impurities and contaminants. After treatment, the recycled or reclaimed water can be utilized on the property for irrigation, flushing toilets and urinals, washing clothes, operating ornamental features like fountains, in HVAC systems, and more.
Onsite water reuse systems foster a decentralized, circular system, enabling a facility or community to achieve self-sufficiency in water use and management. This approach not only helps property owners cut operational costs but also conserves water and enhances the facility’s resilience
Onsite Reuse Applications
Commercial Developments
Aging infrastructure, growing urban populations, and water scarcity are driving real estate developers to adopt conservation-focused technologies. High water consumption in commercial and residential buildings leads to rising utility costs and stricter regulations. VVater Onsite Reuse helps developers reduce water use by up to 40%, offering both sustainability and financial savings. By embracing innovative water recycling, developers can create more sustainable and cost-effective buildings for the future.
Corporate Offices & Campuses
Corporate campuses across the U.S. are facing higher operating costs due to increased water demand as employees return to offices. Office buildings use about 9% of water in U.S. commercial facilities, making water recycling a key opportunity for savings. VVater Onsite Reuse recycles your wastewater, helping save millions and meet sustainability goals. With adaptable systems and full project management, VVater ensures cost-effective, sustainable water solutions for any campus size.
Community-Scale Developments
Rising costs, growing populations, and dwindling resources are driving developers to adopt sustainable solutions. Water conservation is especially critical in drought-prone or densely populated areas. VVater Onsite Reuse recaptures and purifies up to 95% of wastewater, creating a closed-loop system that reduces reliance on municipal water. This customizable solution meets regulatory needs while ensuring safe, sustainable water for entire communities.
Beverage Industry
Water is essential for the beverage industry but presents challenges, especially in drought-prone regions. VVater Onsite Reuse helps wineries, breweries, and distilleries purify feedstock water and recycle discharge water with a closed-loop system. This reduces water use, minimizes waste, and ensures regulatory compliance while maintaining water quality. By recycling water on-site, producers lower costs, reduce their environmental footprint, and achieve sustainability goals without compromising brand integrity.
Stadiums
Stadium owners are looking for ways to enhance fan experiences while reducing operating costs. Water usage offers a significant opportunity for cost savings through recycling. A stadium can use 600,000 to 1 million gallons of water during a single game. VVater Onsite Reuse recaptures the majority of this water for potable and non-potable applications, meeting regulatory standards. This low-energy solution helps stadiums save money and achieve sustainability goals without relying on chemicals or consumables.
Resorts, Hotels, and Golf Courses
Hotels and golf courses use vast amounts of water daily, with totals often reaching 200,000 to 400,000 gallons. VVater Onsite Reuse provides customized solutions that capture, purify, and enhance water utility. Golf courses can treat wastewater to include natural nutrients, creating fertilizer for lush, green turf. Hotels and resorts can recycle wastewater to potable standards, offering eco-friendly experiences that appeal to eco-conscious guests. By adopting VVater, hospitality providers meet sustainability goals while boosting their brand reputation and guest satisfaction.
Academic Institutions
Universities require large amounts of water for dorms, dining facilities, and landscaping, with students using about 94 gallons daily. VVater Onsite Reuse helps campuses recycle wastewater for both potable and non-potable uses, reducing utility costs and boosting water resilience. VVater handles the entire process, from design to maintenance, ensuring a seamless implementation. By adopting VVater, campuses meet sustainability goals, reduce costs, and attract eco-conscious students, 74% of whom consider green initiatives when choosing a school.
Data Centers
Data centers consumed 200 TWh of electricity in 2022, with nearly 40% used for cooling infrastructure. Hyperscale data centers rely heavily on water-cooling systems, using over 200 million gallons of municipal drinking water annually. VVater Onsite Reuse helps data centers reclaim and recycle wastewater for cooling, reducing dependence on municipal supplies. This low-energy, closed-loop system boosts efficiency, minimizes costs, and operates without chemicals, membranes, or filters. VVater handles design, operation, and maintenance, optimizing resource use and supporting long-term savings.
